What does it feel like when the baby's head engages in the pelvis?
I am 36 weeks pregnant and would like to know what it feels like when the baby drops into the pelvis.

When the fetus descends into the pelvis, pregnant women may experience the following sensations:
1. Changes in abdominal pressure: As the fetal head descends, the pressure previously exerted on the stomach and diaphragm is relieved, and the pregnant woman may feel easier breathing and improved appetite.
2. Pelvic bone pain: Due to the downward shift in the fetus's position, pressure may be placed on the pelvic nerves, causing the pregnant woman to experience pain or soreness in the pelvic area.
3. Adjustment of walking posture: Because of the change in the fetus's position, pregnant women may feel a forward shift in their center of gravity and increased strain on the lower back. They may need to adjust their standing and walking posture to maintain balance.
4. Increased sensation of contractions: After the fetus descends into the pelvis, the cervix begins to mature gradually. Pregnant women may experience more frequent and regular contractions, which are normal signs indicating the uterus is preparing for delivery.
5. Sensation of abdominal pressure and pain: Many pregnant women feel intermittent tightening and aching in the abdomen, with a sensation of the baby moving downward.
Not every pregnant woman will experience all of these symptoms. If a pregnant woman experiences regular contractions, rupture of membranes (water breaking), or other signs of labor, she should go to the hospital immediately to prepare for childbirth.
