Why do my feet feel sore when I sleep at night?
I have been experiencing frequent leg soreness recently. I don't feel much discomfort during the day, but the soreness occurs as soon as I fall asleep. May I ask, what causes leg soreness at night while sleeping?
Reasons for foot soreness during sleep at night:
1. Prolonged standing or walking: Excessive daytime activity, especially wearing ill-fitting shoes, can cause leg muscle fatigue, leading to sore feet during nighttime rest.
2. Poor blood circulation: Patients with varicose veins or atherosclerosis may experience ischemia in the lower limbs, causing leg and foot soreness at night. It is recommended to improve this condition by soaking feet in hot water or following medical advice regarding appropriate medications.
3. Nerve problems: Conditions such as peripheral neuropathy or sciatica may also cause discomfort in the feet.
4. Calcium deficiency or electrolyte imbalance: A lack of essential minerals and electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium can affect muscle function and lead to foot soreness.
5. Improper sleeping posture: Poor sleeping positions, such as prolonged pressure on the legs, can also hinder foot blood circulation and cause soreness.
The above are just some common causes, and individual situations may vary. If foot soreness persists or worsens, it is advisable to seek timely medical attention.
