Persimmon cakes should not be consumed with high-protein foods. Persimmon cakes contain significant amounts of tannic acid, which can combine with protein to form substances that are difficult to digest, potentially causing stomach discomfort, indigestion, and other issues. Therefore, persimmon cakes should be avoided with high-protein foods such as milk, eggs, and soy products.

Persimmon cakes should not be consumed with seafood. The calcium in seafood and the tannic acid in persimmon cakes can combine to form precipitates that are difficult to digest, which may not only affect digestion and absorption but also potentially cause gastrointestinal discomfort or even increase the risk of developing stones.

Persimmon cakes should also not be consumed with acidic foods such as lemons and oranges. The fruit acids in these foods can react with the tannic acid in persimmon cakes, increasing the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort.

Special populations, such as individuals with diabetes, iron-deficiency anemia, or gastrointestinal diseases, should also avoid eating persimmon cakes. Persimmon cakes have a high sugar content, which may cause blood sugar fluctuations in diabetic patients; the tannic acid in persimmon cakes may interfere with iron absorption, worsening the condition of patients with iron-deficiency anemia; furthermore, persimmon cakes are considered cold-natured food, and excessive consumption may exacerbate symptoms in patients with stomach diseases.
