Dislocation, also known as joint dislocation, refers to one of the bones forming a joint moving out from its normal position, no longer maintaining its normal articulating relationship. Dislocations can occur in any joint of the body, but most commonly affect the shoulder and elbow joints. Symptoms of dislocation typically include:

1. Severe pain: At the time of dislocation, patients often experience sudden, intense pain at the joint, which is usually intolerable and worsens with further joint movement.

2. Swelling and bruising: Due to rupture of the joint capsule, blood vessel injury, and soft tissue congestion and edema, swelling and bruising often develop around the joint. This can not only intensify the pain but also affect joint reduction and recovery.

3. Deformity: The affected joint area will show a noticeable change in shape, appearing "misaligned" or "distorted," caused by the abnormal position of the bone.

4. Limited mobility: After a dislocation, the joint's normal range of motion is reduced or even completely lost. This is because pain and structural obstacles prevent the joint from functioning normally.

5. Instability: Following joint dislocation, patients may feel a sense of instability or looseness in the joint.
