How to relieve Achilles tendon pain
I went out wearing shoes that were slightly too small, and after walking for a short while, I started experiencing pain in the Achilles tendon area. How should I relieve this pain?

Achilles tendon pain is usually associated with overuse, improper training, or age-related degeneration. Common methods for relief include:
1. Rest: Reduce the load on the Achilles tendon, avoid strenuous activities and prolonged walking, and allow the tendon adequate rest. If the pain is severe, consider using assistive devices such as crutches or a wheelchair to reduce pressure on the tendon.
2. Ice application: Apply an ice pack to the painful area for 15-20 minutes, 3-4 times daily, to reduce inflammation and swelling.
3. Physical therapy: Includes heat therapy, ultrasound therapy, and electrical stimulation, which can help improve blood circulation, promote muscle relaxation, and accelerate recovery.
4. Topical medications: Local applications such as Voltaren ointment or Zepu patch may be used to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.
5. Oral medications: If the pain is severe, oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as Celebrex, may be considered.
6. Wearing appropriate footwear: Ensure shoes provide sufficient support and cushioning. Avoid high heels or flat shoes, as these may increase pressure on the Achilles tendon.
Medication should be taken under the guidance of a qualified physician.
