Myocarditis refers to an inflammatory lesion of the heart muscle tissue. This disease can be caused by various factors: viral infections, bacterial infections, spirochetes, rickettsiae, protozoa, autoimmune reactions, and non-infectious causes such as medications, toxins, radiation, connective tissue diseases, and vasculitis.

Myocarditis can occur at any age. It may affect not only young and middle-aged individuals who appear to be in good health without any underlying organic diseases but also those experiencing prolonged fatigue. Mild symptoms may include chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, fever, and muscle pain. More severe cases can lead to life-threatening conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, shock, or sudden death.

Therefore, if symptoms of myocarditis appear, prompt medical attention is necessary. Clinical examinations based on the patient's condition—such as electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)—should be conducted. When necessary, treatment may include antiviral medications, antibiotics, and cardiac supportive therapy.

If any related symptoms occur, seek medical attention promptly.
