Can I wear a breast patch while having an ECG?
Today I wore a short dress to the medical checkup and had breast pads on. I'd like to ask the doctor, is it okay to wear breast pads during an electrocardiogram (ECG)?

It is not recommended to wear nipple stickers during an electrocardiogram (ECG).
An ECG evaluates heart function by recording the heart's electrical activity. Electrodes must be attached to specific locations on the chest to capture clear ECG signals. The conditions for proper electrode placement require clean, dry skin free of any barriers, ensuring good contact between the electrodes and the skin to minimize signal interference.
ECG testing involves placing electrodes on specific areas of the chest where nipple stickers might be located. If nipple stickers are worn, they may interfere with the proper placement and adherence of the electrodes, thereby affecting the accuracy of the ECG results.
In addition, if the nipple stickers are made of materials with poor conductivity or are insulating, they may impair the conduction between the electrodes and the skin, thus reducing the quality of the ECG signals. Furthermore, if the ECG electrodes do not adhere securely to the skin, artifacts may appear on the ECG tracing, which can affect the interpretation of the results.
