A 40-year-old woman constantly feels headaches.
I am 40 years old this year, and recently I have been experiencing frequent headaches. When the headaches occur, my head feels as if it is being tightly constricted by something, which is particularly uncomfortable. Moreover, this condition has persisted for some time and has seriously affected my life. I would like to know why women around the age of 40 often experience headaches.

A 40-year-old woman frequently experiencing headaches may have various underlying causes.
Migraines often present as unilateral pulsating headaches; vascular neurogenic headaches may be related to emotions and stress; severe conditions such as intracranial hemorrhage or brain tumors may cause intense headaches accompanied by neurological symptoms. Additionally, lifestyle factors such as sleep deprivation, stress, and fatigue, as well as medical conditions like cervical spondylosis and hypertension can also lead to headaches.
Regarding auxiliary examinations, blood tests, cranial CT or MRI scans can help rule out serious diseases. In terms of treatment, pharmacological therapies such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be used to relieve pain, and tricyclic antidepressants may be prescribed for preventive treatment. Physical therapy may also be beneficial. At the same time, patients should adjust their lifestyle habits, maintain a regular schedule and positive mindset, and avoid excessive fatigue and emotional fluctuations.
