During the period of taking Changyan'ning Tablets, it is not advisable to take tonic Chinese herbal medicines simultaneously.

Changyan'ning Tablet is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound primarily composed of Euphorbia humifusa, Hedyotis diffusa, Cinnamomum camphora root, and other ingredients. It functions to clear heat, promote diuresis, and regulate qi flow. Changyan'ning Tablets are mainly used for treating acute and chronic gastroenteritis, diarrhea, and related symptoms. Tonic Chinese herbs such as ginseng and astragalus, although beneficial for replenishing qi and blood, nourishing the spleen, and improving gastrointestinal function, may also irritate the gastrointestinal tract and cause discomfort, such as abdominal pain and diarrhea. Due to individual differences in body constitution and disease conditions, some tonic herbs may not be suitable for individuals experiencing intestinal inflammation, especially during an acute inflammatory phase. Excessive tonification during this period might increase the burden on the intestines and hinder the healing of inflammation.

Furthermore, taking Changyan'ning Tablets together with tonic Chinese herbs could result in interactions between the medicines, potentially affecting their therapeutic effects and even worsening the gastrointestinal burden, leading to deterioration of the condition.

Therefore, during the course of taking Changyan'ning Tablets, it is not recommended to take tonic Chinese herbs concurrently. If there is a need to replenish qi and blood or perform other forms of regulation, it is advisable to make such decisions after completing the course of Changyan'ning Tablets. Additionally, during the treatment period, patients should avoid smoking, alcohol consumption, and eating spicy, raw, cold, or greasy foods, maintaining a light diet instead.
