What causes the feeling of discomfort and nausea in the stomach?
Recently, I have been feeling very uncomfortable mentally and have constantly felt nauseous. May I ask, what are the possible causes of mental discomfort accompanied by nausea?
The causes of feeling mentally distressed and having an urge to vomit may be related to multiple factors, mainly including the following:
1. Gastrointestinal diseases: Such as gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and indigestion. These conditions may damage the gastric mucosa or cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, leading to symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. At the same time, patients may experience additional symptoms including abdominal distension, heartburn, acid reflux, and belching.
2. Cardiac diseases: Such as angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. During an episode, these conditions may not only present as chest pain and tightness but may also affect the gastrointestinal system, causing nausea and vomiting. In addition, insufficient blood supply to the heart or emotional fluctuations can also lead to similar symptoms.
3. Emotional factors: Poor mood, anxiety, tension, and other psychological factors may cause dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system, thereby causing gastrointestinal discomfort symptoms, including nausea and vomiting.
4. Other factors: Conditions such as cervical spondylosis, cerebral ischemia, acute gastroenteritis, and food poisoning may also lead to symptoms of mental discomfort and an urge to vomit. Furthermore, women in early pregnancy may experience similar early pregnancy reactions due to changes in hormone levels in the body.
