Foods and Fruits Containing Vitamin B12
During a recent hospital check-up, they told me that my child is malnourished and recommended supplementing with vitamin B12. I would like to know generally which foods are rich in vitamin B12.
Below are some foods and fruits rich in vitamin B12:
1. Organ meats: Such as beef liver or chicken liver, which are among the richest sources of vitamin B12.
2. Meats: Red meats such as beef, lamb, and pork, as well as poultry like chicken and turkey, contain relatively high amounts of vitamin B12.
3. Fish and seafood: Salmon, tuna, cod, shrimp, and shellfish are all good sources of vitamin B12.
4. Dairy products: Milk, yogurt, cheese, and other dairy products are rich in vitamin B12.
5. Fortified foods: Some breakfast cereals, plant-based milks, nutritional yeast, and other processed foods may be fortified with vitamin B12.
Fruits generally contain relatively low levels of vitamin B12, but some fruits such as apples, bananas, oranges, and mandarins may contain trace amounts. However, for individuals requiring significant vitamin B12 supplementation, relying solely on fruits may not be sufficient.
If necessary, vitamin B12 intake can be increased through supplements under the guidance of a physician.
