How to treat bile reflux
I often vomit yellow fluid and feel very uncomfortable. I have taken many medications, but the effects have not been obvious. This may be caused by irregular eating habits and long-term worry. The doctor diagnosed it as bile reflux. So, how is bile reflux treated?

The treatment of bile reflux mainly includes the following aspects:
1. Medication: Commonly used drugs include antacids, which can reduce gastric acid secretion and alleviate irritation of bile on the gastric mucosa; prokinetic agents, which enhance gastrointestinal motility and promote normal bile emptying; and bile binders, which help adsorb bile acids and reduce their damage to the gastric mucosa.
2. Dietary adjustment: Avoid high-fat, spicy, and acidic foods, as these can stimulate bile secretion and worsen reflux. It is recommended to eat small, frequent meals and avoid overeating, lying down immediately after eating, to reduce gastric pressure and lower the risk of bile reflux.
3. Lifestyle changes: Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption, as both tobacco and alcohol can increase gastric acid secretion and exacerbate bile reflux. Maintain a healthy weight and avoid tight-fitting clothing to reduce abdominal pressure.
4. Surgical treatment: For cases where medication is ineffective or for severe bile reflux, surgical treatment may be considered. Surgical options include fundoplication, cholecystectomy, etc., and the specific approach should be determined according to the patient's condition.
Patients should remain patient during treatment and actively cooperate with their doctor's recommendations.
