What should not be eaten with hairtail (fish)?
There were fresh hairtail fish at the market, so I bought quite a few. However, my family said that there are many things that shouldn't be eaten together with hairtail fish. So, what should not be consumed with hairtail fish?

The following are some foods that are not suitable to consume with hairtail fish:
1. Foods rich in vitamin C: such as tomatoes and Chinese dates (jujubes). Vitamin C may react with proteins in hairtail fish, reducing its nutritional value and potentially causing indigestion.
2. Foods containing tannic acid: such as persimmons, hawthorns, and pomegranates. Tannic acid in these foods can combine with proteins in hairtail fish to form precipitates that are difficult to digest, which may cause gastrointestinal discomfort or even lead to stone formation.
3. Tea: the alkaloids in tea may chemically react with proteins in hairtail fish, producing substances harmful to health. Long-term accumulation may place a burden on the kidneys.
4. Caution when taking medications: Hairtail fish is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering effects. However, individuals taking anticoagulant medications should consume it cautiously to avoid increasing the risk of bleeding.
While enjoying delicious food, it is also important to pay attention to its impact on the body, especially for individuals with specific health conditions who should be particularly cautious in selecting food combinations.
