For most patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, taking medication for one month usually results in positive changes. Clinical symptoms such as coughing, sputum production, and low-grade fever may improve or even disappear, and the pulmonary lesions may show signs of absorption compared to pre-treatment. For some patients with hemoptysis, the cavities in their lungs may decrease in size. Additionally, after one month of treatment, the patient's infectivity significantly decreases, and the sputum smear might change from acid-fast bacilli (AFB) positive to AFB negative, although this outcome is not guaranteed and varies depending on individual differences.

During treatment, patients should follow the principles of early initiation, regularity, full-course completion, appropriate dosage, and combination therapy, taking medications on time and in the correct dosage. Regular follow-up examinations and evaluations are necessary to ensure effective treatment.

Furthermore, taking medication for only one month is insufficient to completely cure pulmonary tuberculosis. Treatment typically lasts from 6 to 12 months, and patients must not discontinue or reduce the medication dosage without medical advice, as this may lead to drug resistance and increase the difficulty of treatment.

At the same time, patients should maintain good nutrition, ensure adequate rest, and implement appropriate isolation measures.
