What are the symptoms of excessive stomach heat?
Recently, I have constantly felt a burning sensation and severe pain in my stomach. Unable to endure it any longer, I went to the hospital for an examination, and was told that I have excessive stomach heat. So, what are the symptoms of excessive stomach heat?
The main symptoms of excessive stomach heat (hyperactive stomach fire) include the following aspects:
1. Bad breath (halitosis): When stomach heat is excessive, digestive function is affected, causing food to remain in the stomach for prolonged periods, fermenting and producing unpleasant odors, which results in noticeable bad breath.
2. Mouth ulcers: Upward inflammation of stomach heat can cause inflammation of the oral mucosa, leading to oral ulcers and swollen, painful gums.
3. Stomach pain or burning sensation: Excessive heat in the stomach can damage the gastric mucosa, causing discomfort such as stomach pain and heartburn.
4. Constipation: Excess stomach heat often accompanies dry, hard stools and difficulty defecating. This occurs because the heat impairs body fluids, causing intestinal dryness and affecting bowel movements.
5. Increased appetite: Some patients may experience abnormally increased hunger. However, after eating, they may feel discomfort, or even nausea and vomiting.
6. Irritability and anger: Emotionally, patients with excessive stomach heat may display irritability, quickness to anger, and emotional instability.
To address symptoms of excessive stomach heat, it is recommended to adjust dietary habits, consume more bland and easily digestible foods, avoid spicy, greasy, and irritating foods, and undergo necessary medical treatment under a physician's guidance.
