Discharge of pus from the urethral opening is often a symptom of urinary tract infections caused by bacterial infections, such as gonorrhea, non-gonococcal urethritis, and is curable.

There is a possibility of spontaneous recovery, as the human body possesses immunity and resistance. If an infection occurs, not taking antibiotics does not necessarily lead to ongoing infection, because with normal immunity and resistance, common infections may resolve without treatment. However, one should not forgo treatment simply because of the possibility of spontaneous recovery, as failure to treat may prolong the illness and increase discomfort. Active treatment is therefore recommended.

In terms of treatment, antibiotics are usually prescribed. Lifestyle adjustments include maintaining good personal hygiene, washing frequently, and changing underwear regularly. Drinking plenty of water to promote urination helps flush out bacteria. Diet-wise, spicy and irritating foods should be avoided, as should unhygienic sexual practices. Maintaining a positive mindset also helps effectively control infection and promote recovery.

Discharge of pus from the urethral opening should never be ignored; timely medical consultation and treatment are recommended to prevent delayed diagnosis and worsening of the condition.
