Pregnant women can drink chrysanthemum tea in moderation.

Chrysanthemum is cool in nature and has effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, as well as soothing the liver and improving eyesight. For pregnant women with a tendency towards internal heat or those prone to excessive internal fire, moderate consumption of chrysanthemum tea may be beneficial. However, for pregnant women with deficiency-cold in the spleen and stomach or those prone to diarrhea, the cooling nature of chrysanthemum tea might worsen their symptoms.

Meanwhile, chrysanthemum tea contains abundant flavonoids, vitamins, and other substances. Drinking it in moderation is beneficial for pregnant women and may help improve sleep quality, regulate liver function, and lower blood sugar levels. However, some components in chrysanthemum, such as flavonoids, although beneficial to health, may cause uterine contractions when consumed in excess during pregnancy, increasing the risk of miscarriage or premature birth.

Therefore, pregnant women should follow the principle of moderate consumption when drinking chrysanthemum tea. It is recommended that pregnant women limit their daily intake to within 300ml to avoid discomfort caused by excessive consumption. Additionally, chrysanthemum tea should not be consumed together with celery, persimmons, or other similar foods to prevent adverse reactions. Moreover, pregnant women who are allergic to chrysanthemum tea should avoid drinking it.
