Night sweats in women, medically referred to as nocturnal hyperhidrosis, may be caused by various factors.

1. Hormonal changes are a common cause, especially around menopause, when fluctuations in estrogen levels may lead to hot flashes and night sweats.

2. Environmental factors should not be overlooked, such as excessively high room temperature or heavy bedding, which can all lead to night sweats.

3. Psychological factors, such as anxiety, stress, or emotional fluctuations, may also trigger night sweats, related to nervous system activity.

4. Menopause itself is another common cause of night sweats in women. During menopause, as ovarian function gradually declines and hormone levels fluctuate, the body's temperature regulation may become disrupted, leading to night sweats.

5. Taking certain medications, such as antidepressants or hypoglycemic drugs, or experiencing stress and anxiety, may also cause this symptom.

6. Some diseases, such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, tuberculosis, and lymphoma, may also cause night sweats.

If night sweats occur frequently and are accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, prompt medical attention is recommended.
