Typically, pregnant women begin to feel distinct fetal movements around 18-20 weeks of gestation, although each fetus has its own pattern of activity. If fetal movements seem weak or infrequent at 21 weeks, there's no need to panic immediately, as this may be normal.

Fetal movements generally start to appear between 16-20 weeks of pregnancy, so experiencing fetal movement at 21 weeks falls within the normal range. At 21 weeks, the fetus is relatively small, and its movements may not yet be strong enough to be felt clearly, as they may be absorbed by the uterine wall and surrounding tissues. Perception of fetal movement can also be influenced by factors such as the mother's sensitivity, abdominal fat thickness, and placental position. Pregnant women with increased abdominal fat or an anterior placenta may experience less noticeable fetal movements.

If you are concerned about reduced fetal movement, it is advisable to communicate with your doctor promptly. The doctor may recommend an ultrasound examination to ensure the well-being of the fetus. As long as ultrasound or color Doppler ultrasound confirms that fetal development is normal, there is generally no need for excessive concern regarding weak fetal movements.
