What should I do if the bone inside my lower leg hurts?
Disease description:
I have been experiencing frequent pain in the inner part of my lower leg bones lately, especially after exercising or during the evenings, when the pain becomes more noticeable. Sometimes the pain is so severe that it affects my ability to walk. I don't know what's causing it. I would like to know what could be causing this kind of pain in the bones of my lower leg.
Pain on the inner side of the shinbone may be caused by various factors, including but not limited to overuse, bone diseases, nerve problems, or circulatory disorders. Below are some recommendations for managing pain on the inner side of the shin:
1. Rest and ice application: If the pain is caused by excessive exercise, stop the related activity immediately and apply an ice pack to the affected area for 15–20 minutes, 3–4 times daily, to reduce inflammation and swelling.
2. Massage: Gently massaging the relevant acupoints and meridians on the calves and feet can help improve lower limb blood circulation and relieve soreness and discomfort caused by prolonged sitting.
3. Appropriate exercise: After the pain subsides, you may perform some low-impact stretching and strengthening exercises to enhance leg muscle strength and reduce the risk of future injuries. However, high-intensity or high-impact exercises should be avoided until full recovery.
4. Medication: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen capsules and naproxen tablets, can be taken orally or applied externally to reduce inflammatory responses and relieve pain. Muscle relaxants, such as eperisone hydrochloride tablets and chlorzoxazone tablets, can alleviate pain caused by muscle spasms. Analgesics, such as acetaminophen tablets and analgesic tablets, can help improve discomfort symptoms.
If symptoms persist or worsen, it is recommended to seek medical examination at a hospital immediately.
