Wound adhesion causing ectropion after external blepharoplasty for眼袋 removal
After undergoing an external blepharoplasty (眼袋切除手术), I noticed that adhesion occurred at the wound site, leading to ectropion (眼睑外翻), which has affected both my appearance and vision. What should I do in this situation?
External blepharoplasty (lower eyelid bag removal) is a common cosmetic procedure used to remove excess skin and fat from the lower eyelids to improve the appearance of under-eye bags. This procedure carries certain risks, one of which is lower eyelid ectropion caused by wound adhesion. Lower eyelid ectropion not only affects the patient's appearance but may also cause ocular discomfort, dryness, tearing, and, in severe cases, may even affect vision.
When this occurs, it is important to promptly contact a plastic surgeon or ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment. If the ectropion is mild and caused by wound adhesion or localized swelling, the physician may recommend local treatments, such as applying lubricants to relieve ocular discomfort or undergoing physical therapy to help restore the eyelid to its normal position.
If the eyelid ectropion is severe and shows no significant improvement after observation and treatment, corrective surgery may be required to repair the ectropion.
In addition, self-treatment or using products not recommended by a physician should be avoided to prevent worsening of the condition. It is important to keep the wound clean and dry to prevent infection, follow medical advice regarding the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications, avoid strenuous activities and trauma to the wound area, and ensure adequate rest and proper dietary nutrition.
Seek medical attention promptly if any new symptoms or issues arise.
