Pain in the right shoulder protruding bone, feels very painful when pressing with hand - what should I do?
I have been experiencing significant pain at the protruding bone area on my right shoulder recently. The pain becomes more noticeable when pressing on it. There is also pain when moving the shoulder during normal activities, and this pain has started to affect my daily life. What measures can I take to alleviate this pain?
Pain in the right shoulder bone that worsens with touch may be caused by various factors. Below are some common treatment methods:
1. Diagnosis: Consider potential causes such as periarthritis or subacromial bursitis. Patients are advised to visit a hospital for imaging examinations like CT or MRI to identify the exact cause.
2. Rest: Avoid excessive shoulder activity and reduce pressure on the painful area.
3. Ice application: Apply ice appropriately to help relieve local inflammation and pain.
4. Maintain proper sitting posture: Avoid slouching, crossing legs, or maintaining the same posture for prolonged periods. Perform appropriate shoulder movements to maintain flexibility of the shoulder muscles.
5. Medication: Over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen capsules or aspirin capsules can be used to relieve pain. If the pain is severe, prescription medications such as etoricoxib tablets or meloxicam tablets may be considered.
6. Physical therapy: Treatments such as warm compresses, cold compresses, massage, and acupuncture can help alleviate pain and stiffness and improve blood circulation in the shoulder area.
If the pain persists or is severe, immediate medical examination at a hospital is necessary.
