What to do about abdominal distension and pain
I've been experiencing constant bloating and abdominal pain these days. I'd like to ask what can be done for abdominal distension and pain.
The following measures are recommended for patients to cope with bloating and abdominal pain:
1. Adjust diet: Avoid eating greasy, spicy, irritating foods, and foods that easily produce gas, such as sweet potatoes, ginger, soybeans, etc. Increase the intake of dietary fiber appropriately, such as grains, legumes, and fresh fruits, which can help promote intestinal motility and relieve bloating. Also, eat smaller meals more frequently and avoid overeating to reduce the burden on the gastrointestinal tract.
2. Adjust lifestyle: Maintain good living habits. Keep a regular schedule and avoid staying up late; stay cheerful and reduce mental stress; quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption, all of which help maintain a healthy digestive system.
3. Medication: If symptoms of bloating and abdominal pain persist, medications that promote gastrointestinal motility, such as domperidone tablets or mosapride citrate tablets, may be used under a doctor's guidance. For inflammatory conditions such as gastroenteritis, antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs may be required.
If symptoms of bloating and abdominal pain are severe or accompanied by other serious symptoms, prompt medical consultation and examination are advised.
