Lotus seeds have the effects of nourishing the spleen and kidneys, consolidating essence, arresting leukorrhea, and calming the mind. However, not everyone is suitable for consuming lotus seeds; the following groups should exercise caution or avoid consumption:

1. Individuals with indigestion: Lotus seeds have a relatively astringent nature and may place additional burden on the gastrointestinal system, especially for those with weak spleen and stomach function or poor digestion, causing symptoms such as abdominal distension and constipation.

2. Individuals with allergic constitutions: People allergic to lotus seeds or their components should avoid consumption. Although lotus seed allergies are relatively rare, consumption should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought if allergic reactions such as rashes or difficulty breathing occur.

3. Patients with hypotension: Lotus seeds have a mild blood pressure-lowering effect. For individuals with already low blood pressure, consuming lotus seeds may further decrease blood pressure, potentially causing symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue.

Although lotus seeds are nutritionally rich and offer multiple health benefits, they are not suitable for everyone. Prior to consumption, individuals should assess and choose according to their own health conditions and physical characteristics.
