What to do about a lacquer tree allergy
A few days ago, I painted a tree and had an allergic reaction. What should I do if I'm allergic to the lacquer tree?

In case of poison ivy allergy, the following measures should be taken:
1. Stop contact immediately: Once poison ivy allergy is suspected, immediately move away from poison ivy or related products to avoid further irritation.
2. Wash the exposed area: Clean the skin area that has come into contact with poison ivy using warm water and a mild cleanser to remove residual urushiol.
3. Apply cold compresses: Applying cold water or an ice pack to the affected area can help reduce inflammation and itching.
4. Apply topical medications: If symptoms such as redness and itching appear on the skin, topical medications such as calamine lotion can be used for local care to reduce skin friction and protect the skin. If there is exudation and crusting, wet compresses with normal saline and boric acid solution may be applied.
5. Medical treatment: If the allergic symptoms are severe, oral antihistamines such as cetirizine may be taken under a doctor's instructions to reduce the allergic reaction. If systemic symptoms such as involvement of the respiratory or digestive tracts occur, seek medical attention promptly, as systemic treatment with corticosteroids may be required.
6. Long-term prevention: Be aware of your allergy to poison ivy, avoid contact as much as possible, and wear long-sleeved clothing and gloves when outdoors to reduce the risk of direct contact.
For severe allergic reactions, prompt medical attention is necessary, where a qualified physician will evaluate and provide appropriate treatment.
