Acne, medically known as acne vulgaris, is a common skin condition that primarily occurs on the face, chest, and back—areas with a high density of sebaceous glands. It commonly affects adolescents and some adults. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), or acne marks, refers to the pigmentation or scarring left behind after acne heals.

Ways to treat acne:

1. Lifestyle habits: Maintain a regular sleep schedule, avoid staying up late, reduce stress, eat a balanced diet, and limit consumption of oily and high-sugar foods. Keep the skin clean by using gentle facial cleansers, and avoid over-cleansing and excessive friction, which may irritate the skin and worsen inflammation.

2. Oil control and moisturization: Choose oil-controlling and moisturizing products suitable for your skin type to maintain a proper balance of oil and hydration.

3. Medication: Topical retinoids such as tretinoin cream, or selenium sulfide shampoo may be used. These medications are primarily suitable for comedones and enlarged pores. For painful acne or pimples with obvious localized pus and redness, topical anti-inflammatory antibiotics such as fusidic acid cream may be applied.

Methods to fade acne marks:

1. Sun protection: Ultraviolet rays can worsen pigmentation. Use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to prevent darkening of acne marks.

2. Skin-lightening products: Use skin-lightening products containing ingredients such as vitamin C and arbutin, which can help reduce pigmentation.

3. Laser therapy: Utilize the energy and instant explosive power of lasers to break up localized pigmentation and stimulate collagen regeneration, thereby removing acne marks.

Specific treatment methods should be carried out under a doctor's guidance based on individual skin type and acne condition.
