What is the process of breast augmentation like?
I am dissatisfied with the shape of my breasts and would like to understand the specific process of breast augmentation surgery in order to make a more informed decision.
Breast augmentation is a common cosmetic procedure. During the surgery, the physician will select an appropriate surgical approach based on the patient's specific circumstances and needs, such as breast implant augmentation or autologous fat transfer augmentation.
The surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon will make incisions beneath the breast, in the armpit area, or around the areola, and then place the implants behind the breast tissue or beneath the pectoralis major muscle. After implant placement, the surgeon will carefully control bleeding and suture the incisions layer by layer. Following surgery, patients need to undergo a period of immobilization and dressing, and should follow the surgeon's instructions for recovery, such as avoiding strenuous activities and lifting heavy objects, to promote healing and reduce the risk of complications.
