What are the risks of eating spicy food after receiving a slimming injection?
Recently, in pursuit of a more refined facial contour, I decided to try botulinum toxin injections for facial slimming. During the post-procedure recovery period, I found it hard to resist the temptation of spicy hot pot and couldn't help wondering whether eating spicy food after the injection might have a negative impact on the recovery process.

The risks of consuming spicy food after receiving a slimming injection include increased swelling and pain, reduced drug effectiveness, higher risk of infection, and potential allergic reactions.
1. Increased swelling and pain: After a slimming injection, the facial skin sustains a certain degree of damage, causing localized swelling and pain. Chili peppers are spicy and irritating; consuming them can irritate the injection site, worsening swelling and pain and prolonging the healing process.
2. Reduced drug effectiveness: The main component of slimming injections is botulinum toxin type A, which requires a certain amount of time to take effect after injection. Eating spicy food may stimulate local blood circulation and accelerate drug metabolism, thereby affecting normal drug absorption and effectiveness.
3. Higher risk of infection: Spicy food may cause internal heat and sweating. If sweat comes into contact with the injection site, it may increase the risk of bacterial infection and delay wound healing.
4. Allergic reactions: Some individuals may be allergic to spicy ingredients like chili peppers. Consumption may lead to symptoms such as skin redness and itching, further impairing recovery after the slimming injection.
