I recently had hyaluronic acid injections and am quite satisfied with the results. I usually sleep on my side, but I didn't ask specifically about sleeping positions at the time. I would like to know, is it okay to sleep on my side after receiving hyaluronic acid injections?

Hyaluronic acid is a common cosmetic filler. After injection, it can provide a lifting and shaping effect as well as volume restoration. However, because hyaluronic acid has a certain degree of mobility, it is advisable to avoid sleeping on your side shortly after the injection.

After hyaluronic acid injection, the material will gradually integrate with the surrounding tissue, achieving a natural appearance. However, in the early postoperative period, the filler may not be completely stabilized yet, so appropriate aftercare is necessary to ensure optimal results. Side sleeping may place pressure on the newly filled areas, especially within the first seven days post-procedure, which could potentially cause displacement of the hyaluronic acid and affect the final outcome. To maintain the shaping effect, it is recommended to sleep on your back for about seven days following the injection and avoid side sleeping.

During this period, you should also avoid strenuous exercise, high-temperature environments, and spicy foods, as these may affect the stability and effectiveness of the hyaluronic acid. Additionally, it is important to keep the injection site clean to prevent infection and to attend follow-up appointments at the clinic regularly to ensure both the desired outcome and your overall health.
