Can pregnant women drink milk tea?
I have a friend who is pregnant and really wants to drink milk tea, but we are unsure whether milk tea has any effect during pregnancy. May I ask the doctor, can pregnant women drink milk tea?

Pregnant women can generally consume milk tea in moderation, but it is recommended to limit intake.
The carbohydrates and fats in milk tea can provide pregnant women with some energy, helping to relieve fatigue, especially when physical exertion is high or appetite is poor. Consuming it in moderation can quickly replenish the body's energy needs. Additionally, the sweet taste and flavor of milk tea can stimulate the brain to release dopamine, which helps improve mood and alleviate negative emotions such as anxiety and depression that may occur during pregnancy.
Pregnant women can occasionally consume small amounts of milk tea during pregnancy, but frequent or excessive consumption is not recommended. Milk tea typically contains high levels of sugar, and excessive intake may cause elevated blood sugar levels, increasing the risk of gestational diabetes. Long-term consumption may also lead to excessive weight gain, increasing the difficulty of childbirth and prolonging postpartum recovery time.
During pregnancy, women should focus on a balanced diet, consuming more vegetables, fruits, and other foods rich in vitamins and trace elements to meet the needs of fetal growth and development. At the same time, adequate intake of high-quality protein, calcium, and other nutrients is beneficial to the health of both the mother and the fetus.
