The main component of instant noodles is carbohydrates, which can provide certain calories to help pregnant women replenish energy and partially meet the body's energy needs during pregnancy. However, the nutritional composition of instant noodles is relatively单一 (single), lacking various nutrients required for the growth and development of both the pregnant woman and the fetus, such as high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Long-term consumption of only instant noodles may lead to nutritional imbalance, affecting fetal growth and development and being detrimental to the pregnant woman's health.

The seasoning packets in instant noodles usually contain large amounts of salt and flavor enhancers like monosodium glutamate (MSG). Excessive salt intake may cause edema and elevated blood pressure in pregnant women, increasing the risk of developing hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. To extend shelf life, instant noodles may contain certain preservatives, which could accumulate in the body if consumed in large quantities over a long period, potentially harming the health of both the pregnant woman and the fetus.
