Influenza A, short for Influenza Type A, is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by the Influenza A virus. It generally becomes non-contagious after 7-14 days, although the exact duration may vary among individuals.

This disease is highly contagious and spreads rapidly, primarily through droplet transmission. Patients remain contagious from the early stage of illness until several days after symptoms disappear. Generally, individuals with Influenza A may transmit the virus to others from one day before symptom onset up to seven days after symptoms appear.

Patients typically become non-contagious after 7-14 days. People with weakened immune systems, such as children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses, may have a longer contagious period.

Influenza A mainly spreads through respiratory droplets and can also be transmitted directly or indirectly via mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Infection may occur through contact with respiratory secretions, bodily fluids from infected individuals, or items contaminated by the virus.

During peak seasons for Influenza A, try to avoid crowded places. Wear a mask when going out if necessary. Maintain personal hygiene by washing hands frequently and avoid touching susceptible areas such as the mouth, nose, and eyes with your hands.
