What temperature does fever reach with type A flu?
Recently, I have been feeling unwell with a persistent high fever, reaching a body temperature of 39°C. As influenza A is currently widespread, I am concerned that I might have contracted the influenza A virus, but I am unsure how high a fever influenza A can cause. May I ask, what temperature does influenza A fever typically reach?

The fever temperature in cases of influenza A varies from person to person. Generally, patients with influenza A may develop a fever reaching 38.5℃ to 40℃.
Influenza A is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by the influenza A virus, and it is highly contagious. After infection with influenza A, the virus multiplies extensively in the body, triggering an inflammatory response and stimulating the body's temperature-regulating center, which leads to fever, typically reaching 38.5℃ to 40℃. Due to individual differences, such as age, baseline health status, and immune function, the severity of fever may vary. In some patients with stronger immunity or mild infection, the temperature may only be around 38.5℃; however, in individuals with weakened immunity or underlying health conditions, the fever may be more severe, possibly reaching 40℃. In addition, patients may experience symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, chills, sweating, nausea, or vomiting.
If infected with influenza A, individuals should avoid close contact with others to reduce the risk of virus transmission and follow medical advice to take medications such as oseltamivir phosphate capsules, ibuprofen tablets, or acetaminophen tablets. It is also important to drink plenty of water during the fever to maintain hydration.
