Influenza A is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by the influenza A virus. This virus is highly contagious and can rapidly spread in crowded places.

Influenza A primarily spreads through droplets. For example, when an infected person coughs or sneezes, the virus contained in the droplets can infect others who inhale these droplets. Additionally, infection may occur if a person touches contaminated objects and then touches their mouth or nose. The clinical symptoms of influenza A typically include high fever, cough, runny nose, muscle pain, and fatigue. Some patients may also experience gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. The severity of illness varies from person to person. High-risk groups, including the elderly, children, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic underlying medical conditions, are more likely to develop severe complications after infection, such as pneumonia, respiratory failure, multi-organ dysfunction, and even life-threatening conditions.

Treatment for influenza A mainly involves antiviral therapy. At the same time, maintaining good personal hygiene, improving indoor ventilation, and regular vaccination are also important preventive measures. Patients experiencing persistent symptoms such as fever are advised to seek timely medical attention.
