What time should I check my blood sugar the next day without eating?
I have a medical check-up tomorrow where my blood sugar will be measured. I'd like to ask the doctor, what time should I stop eating the night before for the blood sugar test the next morning?

Generally, it is recommended that individuals fast for at least 8–12 hours before undergoing a fasting blood glucose test. This means that if the test is scheduled in the morning, fasting should begin after the previous evening's meal and continue until the test is completed the next day.
To ensure the accuracy of blood glucose test results, patients must fast for a certain period before testing. This is because glucose from food is digested and absorbed after eating, which raises blood sugar levels and affects the reliability of the test results. On the night before the test, individuals should eat as usual. If the individual has diabetes, they should take their medication on schedule. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid consuming high-sugar, high-fat, or strongly stimulating foods and to maintain a light diet. To accurately measure fasting blood glucose, it is necessary to fast for at least 8 hours prior to the test. If no food is consumed after 8 PM the previous evening, the fasting blood glucose test can be conducted between 6 AM and 8 AM the next morning. Furthermore, no food should be consumed after 10 PM, including late-night snacks, as this may elevate fasting blood glucose levels. Water may be consumed during the fasting period, although sugar-containing beverages or foods with added sugar should be avoided. Proper preparation in this manner helps physicians more accurately assess a patient's blood glucose control.
