In general, whether surgery is required for multiple rectal polyps measuring 0.2-0.3cm mainly depends on the number of polyps. If the number is small, conservative treatment usually can be selected. However, if the number is large, surgical treatment is recommended.

The size of multiple rectal polyps at 0.2-0.3cm is relatively small. If the number of polyps is limited and they are scattered in location, with minimal impact on bowel function and slow or no noticeable growth, conservative management usually can be selected, such as regular monitoring, attention to diet, and lifestyle adjustments.

However, if there are numerous polyps clustered together, or if they grow rapidly and cause significant clinical symptoms such as rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, or changes in stool shape, or if malignancy is suspected, surgical treatment should be considered. Additionally, surgery may be prioritized if the patient has a history of hereditary polyposis syndrome.

In daily life, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and good dietary habits is recommended to help prevent the occurrence and progression of polyps.
