Disease description:

Today, while going through my medicine cabinet, I found a box of Shidi Shui (Ten-Drop Water), but I couldn't remember at all what it is used for. I want to know what Shidi Shui is and whether it's useful, so I can decide whether to keep it as a backup.

Shi Di Shui is a common traditional Chinese medicine, primarily refined from ten herbal ingredients including camphor, dried ginger, rhubarb, etc., and is effective in clearing heat and summerheat, as well as strengthening the stomach and aiding digestion.

The camphor and eucalyptus oil in Shi Di Shui help to dispel foul odors and eliminate internal turbidity; cinnamon, fennel, dried ginger, and chili peppers warm the middle jiao, dispel cold, harmonize the stomach, and relieve vomiting; rhubarb clears heat, purges fire, cools the blood, and detoxifies. In addition, Shi Di Shui also promotes blood circulation, enhances the skin's resistance to disease, and has certain therapeutic effects on skin conditions such as prickly heat and chilblains.

In clinical applications, Shi Di Shui is mainly used to treat symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea caused by summerheat-dampness, and is particularly effective in relieving discomfort caused by high summer temperatures. Additionally, Shi Di Shui aids digestion and improves anorexia.

Shi Di Shui has a spicy, pungent, and strong taste, and should be used with caution. It is contraindicated for those allergic to this product and should be used cautiously by individuals with allergic constitutions. Pregnant women should avoid using it, as its components may have adverse effects on the fetus. During the use of Shi Di Shui, tonic Chinese herbs should not be taken simultaneously, and a light diet is recommended. If symptoms are severe or show no significant improvement after medication, medical attention should be sought promptly.
