Disease description:

I am 36 years old this year. A few years ago, I chose to have breast augmentation through injections. I have heard that the injected material might migrate or cause adverse reactions in the body, but I am also afraid that surgical removal might lead to more complications. I would like to consult whether it is possible to leave the injected material without removal?

Generally, breast augmentation through injection does not require removal if no adverse reactions occur. However, if adverse reactions do occur, removal might be necessary. Injected breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that increases breast size and improves shape by directly injecting a filler into the breast tissue. If no abnormalities occur after the injection, removal usually isn't necessary. However, individuals prone to rejection reactions may experience postoperative complications such as infection or skin necrosis, in which case timely removal is required.

Women who have undergone injected breast augmentation are advised to have regular medical checkups, especially breast ultrasound or MRI scans, to monitor the status of the filler and any potential complications. If displacement of the filler, nodule formation, or other abnormalities are detected, prompt medical evaluation is necessary to determine whether removal of the filler is required. If persistent swelling, pain, infection, allergic reactions, or other adverse effects occur after injection, or if complications such as filler displacement or capsule contracture develop, timely medical attention is essential, and the decision to remove the injected material should be made according to the physician's recommendations.
