In general, bleeding during the ovulation period lasting 1-3 days falls within the normal range. The amount of bleeding is usually significantly less than a normal menstrual flow, often appearing as spotting, or may only manifest as blood streaks mixed within vaginal discharge.

Ovulation period bleeding refers to regular vaginal bleeding occurring midway between two menstrual periods, caused by a temporary decline in estrogen levels, which leads to partial shedding of the endometrium due to lack of hormonal support.

However, individual differences exist. In some cases, ovulation-related bleeding may last 4-5 days. As long as the bleeding volume remains low and is not accompanied by symptoms such as abdominal pain or fever, it generally does not require excessive concern.

If the bleeding lasts longer than 5 days, or if the volume approaches or even exceeds the menstrual flow, or if it is accompanied by severe abdominal pain or other abnormal symptoms, it may not be simple ovulation period bleeding. It could be caused by other conditions such as endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids, or hormonal imbalances. In such cases, timely medical consultation is recommended to identify the underlying cause through gynecological examination, ultrasound, and other diagnostic methods, followed by targeted treatment.
