Can longan and grapes be eaten together?
I am a 30-year-old female. Recently, I have been enjoying drinking water infused with longan and grapes together, but I am unsure whether these two fruits can be consumed simultaneously. May I ask if it is safe to eat longan and grapes together?

Longan and grapes can be consumed together, as there is no nutritional conflict between the two. Moderate consumption is beneficial to health. Longan is warm in nature, sweet in taste, and acts on the heart and spleen meridians, having functions of nourishing the heart and spleen and enhancing qi and blood. Grapes are neutral in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and act on the lung, spleen, and kidney meridians, offering benefits such as replenishing qi and blood, strengthening tendons and bones, and promoting urination. Their properties complement each other and consuming them together will not cause physical discomfort. Modern nutrition science also indicates that the nutritional components of longan and grapes are complementary, providing the body with energy and various trace elements, making them suitable for consumption by most people.
To ensure safety and well-being, it is recommended to control the amount consumed according to individual constitution, avoiding consumption on an empty stomach or before bedtime. Individuals with a heat-prone constitution can pair consumption with chrysanthemum tea or hawthorn to aid digestion and reduce the risk of excessive internal heat. Those with weak spleen and stomach functions are advised to consume them at different times or try small amounts after cooking. Diabetic patients should monitor blood sugar levels and prioritize fresh fruits without added sugar. Storage should keep them separated and away from light to prevent spoilage and bacterial growth. If symptoms such as abdominal distension or thick, greasy tongue coating occur after consumption, intake should be reduced or stopped altogether. For long-term combined consumption, consultation with a TCM practitioner is recommended to adjust proportions based on individual constitution.
