Is it safe to take Wet Toxin Clearing for one month?
The eczema on my body hasn't improved for a long time, so the doctor prescribed Wet Toxin Clearing (Shidu Qing). I've been taking it for a while, and the effect has been acceptable. I'd like to continue taking it for another month to consolidate the results. However, I'm worried about potential issues from long-term use. Is it safe to take it for a whole month?

Under normal circumstances, Wet Toxin Clearing (Shidu Qing) can be taken for one month, but it should be used under the guidance of a TCM physician.
Wet Toxin Clearing is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation, primarily composed of herbal ingredients such as Sophora flavescens, Kochia fruit, and Cicada slough, which have functions of clearing heat and detoxifying, eliminating dampness, and relieving itching. It is indicated for treating skin symptoms such as itching, redness, and papules caused by internal accumulation of damp-heat. If a patient's symptoms persist and the physician determines that continued treatment is necessary, Wet Toxin Clearing capsules may be taken continuously for one month under medical supervision. During this period, the physician will closely monitor the patient's condition and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
However, if the patient's condition has significantly improved or resolved, continuing to take Wet Toxin Clearing capsules for an additional month without medical guidance may lead to unnecessary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and loose stools. In such cases, patients should taper off or discontinue the medication gradually as advised by their physician to avoid overuse.
During the course of treatment, patients are advised to use medications rationally under the guidance of qualified physicians, attend regular follow-up appointments, and adjust their treatment plans promptly to ensure safe and effective medication use.
