Dr. Zhou Xiaofeng

Infant formula feeding may cause heatiness (a traditional term referring to internal heat or inflammation), which could be related to feeding methods, formula composition, or the infant's underdeveloped digestive system. It is recommended to adjust the formula and choose one suitable for the infant's age and digestive capacity. If necessary, consult a doctor about switching to a hypoallergenic or hydrolyzed protein formula.

In addition, ensure the infant receives adequate water intake daily, offering an appropriate amount of plain boiled water between feedings to help relieve constipation. Easily digestible, bland complementary foods can be introduced, along with a proper amount of warm water to promote metabolism and alleviate symptoms of heatiness.

For infants who have already started complementary feeding, ensure a balanced diet rich in fiber from vegetables and fruits, and avoid excessive intake of high-sugar and high-fat foods. Regularly monitor the infant's bowel movements; if constipation persists, seek medical attention promptly to rule out possible gastrointestinal disorders.

Maintain an indoor temperature between 22°C and 26°C, with a relative humidity of 50–60%, avoiding excessively high temperatures or overly dry air. Encourage the infant to engage in appropriate daily physical activity to promote metabolism and help alleviate heatiness symptoms.

If the infant develops any signs of discomfort or illness, it is recommended to seek immediate medical attention and follow the physician's instructions for treatment.
