Disease description:

I used Yifuqing for a period of time, and my symptoms improved. However, I heard from a friend that it is a hormonal medication and not suitable for long-term use. I would like to know whether it is actually a hormonal drug and whether I can continue using it.

Yifuqing generally refers to Triamcinolone Acetonide and Econazole Nitrate Cream, which is a compound preparation containing hormonal components.

Triamcinolone acetonide in this cream is a medium-potency glucocorticoid with strong anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and immunosuppressive effects. It can alleviate and prevent tissue reactions to inflammation, reduce fever, redness, and swelling caused by local non-infectious inflammation, thereby relieving inflammatory symptoms. Econazole is an antifungal agent primarily used to inhibit fungal cell membrane synthesis, and it has antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi.

Clinically, Triamcinolone Acetonide and Econazole Nitrate Cream is commonly used to treat dermatitis, eczema, and dermatophytosis that are accompanied by or prone to fungal infections. Because it contains hormones, it should be used strictly according to the doctor's instructions to avoid long-term or extensive application, which may cause adverse reactions such as local skin atrophy, capillary dilation, and pigmentation, and may also lead to steroid-dependent dermatitis.

If a burning sensation, redness, or swelling occurs at the application site, the medication should be discontinued, the area should be washed thoroughly, and medical advice should be sought promptly.
