1. Spicy foods: Patients should avoid consuming spicy and irritating foods such as chili peppers, pepper, and Sichuan peppercorns, as these can irritate the respiratory mucosa and worsen coughing and sore throat.

2. Greasy foods: Oily and fried foods should also be avoided, as they are difficult to digest and increase the body's burden, hindering recovery from a cold.
