When a 4-month-old baby experiences watery diarrhea, it is important to promptly use smectite powder for antidiarrheal treatment. Additionally, prolonged episodes of watery diarrhea may lead to dehydration in babies, so timely administration of oral rehydration salts is also necessary to alleviate this condition. If stool tests indicate a bacterial infection, antibiotics such as Cefixime granules should be administered. However, please note that Cefixime granules are recommended for infants aged 6 months and older. It is important for the baby to drink plenty of water during the illness to prevent dehydration.
