What causes dry cough in children?
Disease description:
My younger brother has had a dry cough for the past two days. I would like to ask what might be causing this?

Dry cough in children may be caused by acute pharyngitis or may be due to reflux esophagitis. If caused by acute pharyngitis, anti-inflammatory treatment with medications such as amoxicillin-clavulanate potassium granules can be administered under a doctor's guidance. If the cough is due to reflux esophagitis, medications to suppress stomach acid, such as domperidone suspension, can be taken as directed by a physician to alleviate symptoms.
