If children are bitten by mosquitoes or insects, they can apply some antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and astringent medications, such as Triamcinolone Acetonide and Econazole Nitrate Cream, anti-itch and dampness-removing ointment, or Halometasone Cream. If symptoms are not severe, taking medication alone may suffice. However, in severe cases, some children may experience serious allergic reactions with significant local swelling. In such instances, cold wet compresses using normal saline or boric acid solution can be applied 2–3 times daily, each session lasting about 30 minutes. This can help speed up the resolution of swelling and also relieve itching and pain.
