Why does my child have a mild cough during the day but a severe one at night?
Disease description:
My child has had a mild cough during the day recently, but the cough worsens at night. I would like to ask what might be causing this?

A child's cough may be mild during the day but worsen at night, possibly due to chronic bronchitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). If the cough is caused by chronic bronchitis, treatment may include medications such as albuterol inhalers, under a doctor's guidance. If it is due to GERD, acid-suppressing medications such as omeprazole enteric-coated capsules may be taken as directed by a physician. However, omeprazole enteric-coated capsules are recommended for use in individuals aged 14 years and older.
