It is acceptable to apply floral water (eau de cologne) on a baby's mosquito or insect bites. If there are no significant symptoms, using floral water, soap water, or baking soda may be acceptable. However, if swelling and itching occur, topical applications such as clocortolone pivalate ointment or erythromycin ointment can be used. After being bitten, the baby may experience some itching; it is important to prevent the baby from scratching the affected area to avoid skin damage.
