Generally, loratadine is not recommended for pregnant women.

Loratadine is an antihistamine primarily used to treat allergic rhinitis, acute or chronic urticaria, allergic dermatitis, and other related conditions. However, taking loratadine during pregnancy may have adverse effects on the fetus. Loratadine can cross the placental barrier and enter the fetal circulation, potentially affecting fetal growth and development. Additionally, loratadine may reduce estrogen secretion, which could negatively affect fetal health.

Pregnant women taking loratadine may also experience other side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, gastritis, skin flushing, itching, and possible liver or kidney dysfunction. If a pregnant woman experiences allergic reactions, alternative medications that are considered relatively safe may be used under a doctor's guidance, such as vitamin C tablets or calcium gluconate oral solution. Topical treatments, such as calamine lotion or desonide cream, may also be prescribed.

In daily life, pregnant women should maintain a healthy diet and avoid spicy, irritating, or greasy foods to prevent worsening of symptoms. Adequate rest is important, and excessive fatigue should be avoided. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after medication, prompt medical attention at a正规 hospital is advised.
